At Ages In Stages Childcare, we see children as natural learners. Our unique curriculum blends the joy of play with structured learning, fostering well-rounded development in every child. Since opening our doors in November 2005, we’ve been dedicated to providing a nurturing, engaging, and enriching environment where children can thrive. That means a day built around what children are ready for, not a script they have to follow.
In our classrooms, that approach shows up in hands-on activities and child-led exploration. Teachers work with small groups to build pre-reading and math skills, then bring everyone together for activities that encourage teamwork and a sense of belonging. The rooms have areas for art, science, and play. Outdoor spaces give children room to move and imagine. Children learn by doing, and teachers are there to guide.

What you notice in practice
Teachers get down at eye level to talk with children. They follow the child’s lead in play, then add a question or an idea to stretch the thinking. When a child is focused on a block tower, a teacher might ask what comes next. When two children want the same toy, a teacher helps them find the words. Small groups let each child get attention.
Rooms have dedicated spaces for art, science and more, with age-appropriate design for each group. Entry points are controlled and play areas secure. Outside, spacious areas hold active and imaginative play. The day blends child-led exploration with hands-on activities and lessons, so play and structured learning move together.
How we work with families
At pickup, teachers tell you what your child did that day. A grandparent wrote that the staff is attentive to the kids' needs. For Head Start families facing recent changes, we offer a caring community and safe childcare, and help navigating the transition. Bring your questions; we answer them as they come up.
Starting a new childcare setting is a big step for a child and for a family. We take it gradually. You and your child can visit first, meet the teachers, and see the room. Then we plan a short first day and build from there. Teachers watch how your child settles and keep in touch with you. You can ask us anything about those first weeks.
